![Hard to believe this was one year ago today! 🤩🪂
Skydiving marked the first of many bucket list items I’ve embarked on this past year and many more to come…
HERE’S THE BACKSTORY:
Shortly after turning 40 and feeling a bit blah, I made a list of all the things I’ve been wanting to do, but dragging my feet on, and decided I wasn’t going to let another year of excuses (or stalling) go by.
First and second on the list were skydiving (hence the stalling 😂) and competing in a triathlon.
As many of you know, I completed the latter this past June and then again in September! 😅
Then there was cutting bangs—checked off as of this month!—several other smaller goals, including painting my kitchen cabinets (completed earlier this year), and a few audacious ones, too:
1️⃣ Write a book,
2️⃣ have my own art show,
3️⃣ and complete a Spanish immersion program in Costa Rica—a desire I’ve had ever since visiting the country more than 6 years ago.
But when I made this list in November of last year, I had also declared that I was going to check off at least one item before December 31, 2023.
Compared to training for a triathlon and the time (and courage) required for those last three goals, jumping out of an airplane seemed easiest—not a whole lot of prep involved and it could be completed in one day—so I tackled that one first, much to my mother’s dismay. 🫣
On December 21, 2023, I suited up and went skydiving and it was one of the most exhilarating things I’ve ever done.

As for the next goal, I’m still working up the courage for some of my bigger ones, but have plenty of smaller ambitions to pursue in the meantime…
Like learning chess, taking salsa dance lessons and enrolling in Krav Maga or Jiu-Jitsu. 😅
